Holidays, work trips, weekends away: getting out of the house is great, but it’s also when routines slip most easily. With a little preparation, you can pack your habits in your suitcase.
Prepare before you leave
Most routines fall apart in the first few hours of a trip, between suitcases, airports and new schedules. Decide before you go what you want to keep — for example, breakfast with your gummy, your walk and your bedtime — and prepare whatever you need.
Take only the doses for the days you’re away in a small box, with the label to hand.
Keep your supplements in your hand luggage, away from the heat of the car.
Take a reusable bottle to fill up after security.
Set a reminder on your phone for your first morning away.
Time zones and mixed-up schedules
When you change time zones, try to adapt to local time straight away: meals, natural light and bedtime. If you take a supplement in the morning, take it in the morning at your destination, without doubling up doses because of the time difference.
On short trips, don’t worry about being perfect. The aim is to keep a few anchors: a calm breakfast, a few minutes outdoors, a reasonable bedtime.
Make the most of being somewhere new: walking to explore the city counts as movement, and the hotel breakfast can be the right moment for your gummy. Routines travel better when they adapt to the destination instead of fighting it.
A trip doesn’t need a pause in your habits. It needs a lighter version of them.
Back home
Coming home is the other critical moment. On your first morning back, pick up your routine in its usual order, even if the rest of the week is still chaotic. If you missed a few days, simply carry on without making up for them.
Zinc and biotin contribute to the maintenance of normal hair and skin.
And if you have a subscription and will be away when the next jar arrives, postpone the delivery in your account before you leave — it’s one click and saves an order sitting on the doorstep of an empty house.
In short
Decide before you leave which habits you want to keep.
Take only the doses for the trip, in your hand luggage.
At your destination, follow local time; don’t double up doses.
When you get back, pick up your routine on the very first morning.
